Over 300 people attend Alberta Together gathering in Red Deer

RED DEER- Over 300 people joined Alberta Together on Saturday at the Black Knight Inn.

The discussions dealt with the current political landscape and how to foster the growth of the next generation of political leaders in Alberta.

The attendees took an electronic vote about where they would like to put their political energy going forward.

The result, 83% voted to build the Alberta Party.

The meeting was attended by people from all political stripes and as well as newcomers to politics.

“We were so thrilled with the number of people who came out to this event,” Katherine O’Neill, Alberta Together’s Executive Director said. “There’s a new generation of modern, inclusive people who are hungry for a positive political voice and we are going to build on that.”

Speakers at the meeting included:

– Pat Cochrane, President, Alberta Party
– Greg Clark, Leader, Alberta Party
– Kerry Cundal, Former Alberta Liberal Leadership Candidate
– Stephen Mandel, Former Health Minister and Mayor of Edmonton

Alberta Together’s goals include striving to shape and support a strong, positive and inclusive centrist political voice in the province and be ready for the 2019 election.
