Snow plowing starts Thursday in Deer Park, Rosedale and Timberlands

Feb 13, 2018 | 2:49 PM

Snow Zone plowing on Grey Routes is scheduled to start this Thursday (Feb. 15) in Snow Zone F.

Residents are reminded to sign up for Snow Zone Alerts on the City website so they know when parking restrictions are in place. ‘No parking’ signs will not be placed on every street for Grey Route plowing; instead, large signs are placed at all entrances to each neighbourhood.

Snow Zone plowing on Green Routes is well underway and will continue until completion city-wide. Plowing runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday on Green Routes, and Monday to Friday on Grey Routes.

“Green Routes are plowed to bare pavement, the snow is removed and there are no windrows,” The City of Red Deer explains in a release. “Grey Routes are plowed to a five centimetre snowpack, and windrows are left on both sides of the street. Windrows from front driveways will be cleared and the snow will be placed on the windrows on the remainder of the street.”
