Drayton Valley RCMP weekly brief April 12-19

LEASE SITE THEFTS, STOLEN TRAILER RECOVERED 

Drayton Valley RCMP say on April 12 at 9:14 a.m. in Brazeau County Obsidian Energy reported that sometime overnight someone entered a lease site and stole site glass from chemical tank.  Footwear impressions and tire impressions were left behind.  Value Approximately $100.

Just after 10 a.m. at the Ramada Inn parking lot Mounties recovered stolen trailer  after a Complaint was received of an abandoned black enclosed trailer that has been sitting in the parking lot for the last several months.  Members attended and discovered the trailer had been reported stolen from Valleyview. 

At 12:34 p.m. in Brazeau County Obsidian Energy reported someone entered a lease site and stole site glass from a building on site.

Just before 4 p.m. on 45 Avenue a report was received that sometime over the past winter, someone entered their yard and then broke the window in a parked motorhome.  Several items were stolen including camping kitchen knives.

FRAUD, BREAK AND ENTERS 

On April 13 at 1:40 a.m. in Rocky Rapids a member on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the entrance to a rural subdivision.  Queries indicated that the vehicle had been obtained by fraud and to seize same and two male occupants were arrested.  Several weapons located within the vehicle. 

Just after 8 a.m. at Khal’s Steak House a report was received of two suspicious males breaking into a shed at Khal’s Restaurant. Members attended and arrested two males.  

Shortly after 4 p.m. in Lodgepole a report was received of a break and enter to the community hall.  Suspects had cut a hole in the wall of a closet then opened up the locked back door.  Sound equipment stolen and members attended and photos obtained.  Matter is still under investigation.

Just before 4:30 p.m. at Valley Concrete the report of a grey 1984 Toyota Xtrecab 4×4 being stolen sometime Wednesday night.  Video surveillance available and obtained. 

BREAK AND ENTER TO LIQUOR STORE, GAS AND DASH 

On April 15 just before 6:30 a.m. a report was received of a break and enter to SOLO Liquor Store.  Descriptions were obtained of vehicle and occupants.  Members attended location, however vehicle was gone upon their arrival.  Neighbouring detachments were advised which resulted in 2 males and 1 female being arrested and charged.  As a result of information provided by passerby’s reporting suspicious activity, Police were able to apprehend those responsible.  

At 11:22 a.m. at the Shell Gas Station on 50 Avenue a report of a white truck with a tidy tank filled up with $42.91 worth of gas then took off.  Video surveillance was obtained and the matter is still under investigation.

THEFT OF AND FROM VEHICLES 

On April 16 just after 7:30 a.m. on 50 Street team auctions reported that the ignition had been damaged on a company vehicle which was parked in open compound.  Occurred sometime overnight.  Video surveillance available and being viewed.  Matter is still under investigation.   

At 7:44 am on 51 Street a report of a theft of a Black 1999 Ford F250 truck was received.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m. at Celebrity Estate Drive a report came in of 3 vehicles being rummaged through sometime overnight. Unknown what was taken and video surveillance obtained.

At 9:39 a.m. on 43 Street a report was received of entry to unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.  Wallet, cheque book, ipod and other personal items taken.

At 10:22 a.m. on 53 Ave in Lodgepole a complainant advised that they had returned from BC to find their holiday trailer missing from their yard.  The trailer is described as white with wood 2005 A-Liner Cabin 24 foot holiday trailer. 

FRAUD, BREAK AND ENTER TO TOWN YARD, ASSAULT 

On April 17 just after 9 a.m. a complainant in Brazeau County reported that they entered their credit card information on pop up ads a few times since December and believes they have lost approximately $600.  Computer has also been infected with a virus, which has been repaired. 

At 1:21 p.m. on 49 Street a report came in of theft of tools from truck.  Dewalt skill saw, batteries and charges taken.

Just before 3:30 p.m. on 53 Ave the town reported that the lock on the gate to the west yard where they keep the bicycles to be sold, has been broken and a hole cut into the fence.   Matter is still under investigation with a possible suspect.

At 3:54 p.m. on 52 Ave a report of an abandoned vehicle in the parking lot was received.  The red Minivan had its windows broken and 2 flat tires.  Members attended, the vehicle was not registered or insured.  Vehicle towed, last Registered owner advised.

At 9:37 p.m. on 50 Avenue at 7-11 a report was received of a male assaulting a female in front of 7-11.  Members attended and located male who was subsequently arrested and charged for assault, Possession of Drugs and Breach of conditions.

GAS AND DASH, BREAK AND ENTER

On April 18 shortly before 4 a.m. at Fas Gas a grey Saturn with two females filled up with gas, $42 worth and left without paying. 

At 4:10 a.m. on 20 Avenue at the Beer Locker a report came in of a glass break at Beer Locker.  Members immediately attended, front door smashed, video surveillance being obtained.  Footwear impressions noted and photos taken.  Matter is under investigation. 

At 5 a.m. in Brazeau County at BARMAC Contracting a report came in of break and enter to a building and theft of two crew trucks.  2015 White Ford, F350 and 2011 White GMC Sierra taken.  Left behind is a 1998 Dodge Ram grey in colour, stolen from Rocky Mountain house earlier in the morning.  

Just before 4 p.m. on 47 Street a report of a break and enter to a residence sometime over the past 6 days.  Tools were taken and members attended and evidence gathered.  Still under investigation.
