Design work is continuing on the modernization of St. Patrick’s Community School in Red Deer.

That according to officials with Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools who say the construction team is also looking at the scope-of-work and determining the cost for the budget. Once complete, work is expected to begin in July and last for about 18 months.

As a result, the Board of Trustees has approved a revision to the school’s calendar for 2018-2019. The start date will be delayed one week due to the school’s modernization to allow the installation of new air handling units.

Elsewhere throughout the district, a number of new modulars are planned to be added to four other schools. They include three for Father Henri Voisin School in Red Deer, two for Ecole Our Lady of the Rosary School in Sylvan Lake, two for Holy Trinity Catholic School in Olds and four for St. Matthew Catholic School in Rocky Mountain House.
