Drayton Valley RCMP Weekly Report: October 31 – November 8

DRAYTON VALLEY- Here is the report from the Drayton Valley RCMP Detachment for the week of Oct. 31 – Nov. 8.

October 31

04:48 a.m.-  Drayton Valley, 7-11 – Suspicious person – Report of a suspicious male trying to get into vehicles.  Male was described as slender build, wearing jeans and a dark coat with a hoodie and scarf covering the bottom of his face.

8:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 48 Street – Suspicious person – Report of a suspicious male on a bicycle with a back pack and garbage bags. Observed entering a chev cavalier. Member patrolled, vehicle was unregistered, no plate.  Unknown if anything removed.

3:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Madsen Avenue – Unwanted person – Report of unwanted female. Would like removed from residence. Members attended and removed female as requested.

November 1

5:22 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 55 Street – Stolen Truck – Report of theft of 2005 F250, white in colour. Stolen overnight from West Wind Hotel. Vehicle recovered in Leduc.

12:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Madsen Avenue – Unwanted person – Report of unwanted female to be removed. Members attended and removed the same female from previous day.

9:03 p.m. – Lodgepole – Break and Enter – Complainant just returned to their room and the door was broken off the hinges and their property rummaged through. 

November 2

7:24 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Westwood Inn – Theft of vehicle – Report of theft of 1998 Dodge Ram 2500, green and silver in colour. Vehicle recovered in Rocky Mountain House area.

2:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Frank Maddock High School – Careless driving – Report of an older white 4 door Chevrolet stunting in the parking lot in front of the school. 

4:30 p.m. – Tomahawk – Theft – Report of theft of winter tires from shed. Tires are Firestone brand and are studded.

November 3

1:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 56 Street – Disturbance – Report of a male yelling and screaming wearing a hoody with red writing in the back, hitting garbage cans. Members attended and arrested male. 

1:40 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 54 Street – Impaired driving – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Driver was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol

9:18 a.m. – Brazeau County, Hwy 22 – Traffic collision – Report of a 2 vehicle collision on the bridge of the Saskatchewan River on Hwy 22. Truck hit black ice and hit the guard rail sending the vehicle into oncoming traffic. All occupants removed from vehicle prior to truck becoming engulfed in flames.  Six year old girl sent by STARS to Edmonton.  Woman driver transported to Drayton Valley hospital.

November 5

3:22 a.m. – Drayton Valley, SOLO liquor – Break and enter – Commercial alarm, SOLO liquor. Video shows three suspects in a four door grey sedan. Matter is still under investigation.

8:53 a.m. – Brazeau County – Animal Calls – Report of cows on the road, RR 90 towards Hwy 620.  Members attended, gate was unsecured. 

10:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Theft – Report of theft of wallet while at OCT Taphouse. Visa card used at several locations. 

2:29 p.m. – Rocky Rapids – Theft from vehicle – Cab had not been entered, however service body gone through and hand tools and cordless drill were stolen.

5:15 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Country Style Trailer Court – Animal Call – Report of a dog left in a beige older Jeep Grande Cherokee with decal on back. Driver located and advised to either take the dog in or turn the heater on.

November 6

8:22 a.m. – Tomahawk – theft of truck – Report of theft of 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, grey in colour, stolen sometime overnight.

9:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 54 Avenue – Damage to vehicle – Report of rear window on 2015 Black Chevrolet Silverado being broken sometime overnight. It appears that a rock was thrown at the window.

10:32 a.m. – Tomahawk – Theft – Report of trespassers at night and theft of metal from the transfer station.

11:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 50 Street – Theft – Report of theft of licence plate from 2016 Grey Silverado 1500 parked at the Best Western Hotel sometime overnight. Another licence plate stolen from elsewhere was recovered.

1:32 pm – Drayton Valley, Tim Hortons – Theft – Report of theft of funds from poppy tray.
