Lush named AJHL Defensive Player of the Week, again

For a second week in a row, goaltender Luke Lush of the Drayton Valley Thunder is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. 

Lush posted two wins and extended the current win streak for the Thunder to five games.

The Sherwood Park native stopped 29 of 31 shots against his first North Division foe of the weekend, taking a 3-2 win from the Lloydminster Bobcats. Saturday night, Lush and the Thunder stole a 2-1 shootout win from the Bonnyville Pontiacs with Lush turning away 43 shots.

Lush, 20, joined the Thunder in early October and holds a 9-3-1 record since arriving to Drayton Valley.  He is fifth among AJHL goaltenders with a .924 SV% and his 2.63 GAA places him ninth in the league.

The Thunder are now seventh in the AJHL North Division, two points back of Whitecourt as they head into games Tuesday at Drumheller and Wednesday at Brooks.
