100+ Women donate $13,000 to CMHA

100+Women Who Care Red Deer held their final meeting of 2018 Monday night at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.

About 130 members were in attendance to hear presentations from three community organizations hoping to score some charitable funding.

Pitches were heard from representatives with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Central Alberta, Red Deer Action Group Society and the Women and Girls Fund.

The CMHA was selected as the winner this time around and will receive $13,000 with more to come.

Also this year, 100+ Women donated $17,000 to Habitat for Humanity, $18,350 to the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter and $18,450 to the Alzheimer Society.
