Drayton Valley weekly RCMP report Dec. 20 – Dec. 27

December 20

10:48 am – Drayton Valley, Wal Mart – Shoplifting – Report of someone scanning groceries at self checkout, placed items in bag and left without even attempting to pay.  Suspect was contacted who returned and paid.  No issues, just got side tracked.

10:48 pm – Brazeau County, RR 82 – Noise complaint – Report of loud noises coming from construction area close  to their residence.  Members attended and spoke with person on scene who advised that residents had been advised that night work would be going on.  Requested to keep the noise down.

December 21

7:19 am – Drayton Valley, Home Away Inn – Theft from vehicle – Report of someone broke the rear passenger window on their white dodge 3500.  Once inside, suspects stole various tools and work wear.

8:21 am – Drayton Valley– Fraud – Report received from business advising that their computer system had been hacked and ransomware applied which is preventing them from accessing their files. Anti Fraud section contacted.

9:19 am – Drayton Valley, 49 Street – Theft from vehicle – Complainant reports someone broke the drivers side window on their white Chevrolet half ton and stole a RCO coat with the name “WALLY” on it.

11:20 am – Drayton Valley, Foundation Dodge – Theft from vehicle – Report of truck being broken into while parked at Foundation Dodge.  Entry gained by breaking a window.  Registration for the truck along with various registrations for trailers and tools taken.

8:17 pm – Drayton Valley, 53 Street – Assistance – complainant called 911 to request assistance from members as they wished assistance to get their belongings back from ex. 

December 22

12:40 am – Brazeau County – Impaired Driving – Report received of an intoxicated driver in the ditch.  Members attended and arrested driver of semi truck for impaired driving. 

2:02 am – Violet Grove – Noise complaint – Report received of gunshots heard.  Members attended and noted a party going on.  The person having the party advised that they had set off fireworks.

4:13 am – Lodgepole – Theft – Report of theft of fuel.  A blue dodge ram was observed stealing fuel from a log loader.  Male and female in vehicle. Matter still under investigation.

5:22 am – Drayton Valley, Pembina Manor – Assault – Report that someone broke the front door to the building entered an apartment and punched the tenant several times. Members attended and arrested the suspect who was intoxicated. 

8:13 am – Drayton Valley, 52 Avenue – Break and Enter – Complainant reporting that someone broke into their residence.  Entry made through the back door.  Firearms, 2012 Triumph Tiger motorcycle, Playstation 4 and various Milwaukee tools stolen.

3:13 pm – Drayton Valley, 53 Avenue – Theft from vehicle – Complainant left their vehicle parked behind the post office over night.  When they returned to the vehicle, the window was broken and a back pack containing various identification stolen. 

7:42 pm – Brazeau County, TWP road 501A – Missing person – Complainant called to advise they had not seen or heard from their son in two weeks and this was strange.  Concerned for their welfare.  Members located the subject who was on vacation.

December 23

2:02 pm – Drayton Valley, 48 Avenue – Break and Enter – Report of a break and enter to a shed sometime within the past week.  Lock to the shed was broken and several tools stolen.

2:51 pm – Drayton Valley, 52 Street – Break and Enter – Report of a break and enter occurring.  Members attended to find property owner clearing out a vacated residence.  Civil dispute over eviction between landlord and tenant. 

4:55 pm – Drayton Valley, 52 Street – Break and Enter Residence – complainant reports seeing two kids breaking into a trailer that members were at earlier.  They are taking stuff out of the trailer.  Members attended, no one on scene.  Matter is still under investigation.

9:46 pm – Brazeau County – Theft – Members requested to assist Brazeau County CPO who had a vehicle stopped.  Driver of vehicle is well known to police.  Driver hauling a large generator.  Members attended and attempted to locate owner of generator with negative results.  Owner later called to advise that the generator had been stolen.

December 24

9:02 am – Drayton Valley, 50 Avenue – Theft from vehicle – Report of the window broken on a maroon 2005 Ford F 150 while parked at shop. Tonneau cover was cut open, unknown what taken. 

10:04 am – Drayton Valley, 44 Avenue – Damage to vehicle – Complainant reports that the drivers side of their 2015 red Ford F150 has been keyed.  Unknown where this occurred.

10:27 am – Lodgepole – Abandoned vehicle – complainant reporting a silver 2002 Grand Prix has been parked on the main road for approximately 3 days, no licence plate.   Member attended, contacted the Registered Owner who advised they had sold the vehicle last week to a person from Rocky Mountain House.  Member contacted new owner.

1:56 pm – Drayton Valley, Independent Parking Lot – Theft from vehicle – Complainant reporting that they observed a male remove a licence plate from a vehicle in the parking lot.  Complainant followed vehicle.  Member attended location of suspect and arrested suspect. 

8:31 pm – Drayton Valley, Anglican Church parking lot – Theft of vehicle – complainant reports their dodge ram pickup was stolen while attended Christmas Mass.  Suspects entered the coat room and stole the keys from their coat.  Other persons also had items stolen from their coats.  Matter is still under investigation.

9:26 pm – Drayton Valley, 49 Avenue – Theft of vehicle – Complainant reports starting their vehicle, a white Kia Sorento, then going inside.  Suspects stole the vehicle.  Vehicle was recovered the following day. 

December 25

10:59 am – Cynthia – Theft of Truck – Complainant reporting their 1999 Dodge Durango stolen. 

12:35 pm – Drayton Valley, Bank of Montreal – False Alarm – Report of a hold up alarm at the bank.  Members attended, building was secure, no sign of a break in, no one inside the bank.

7:28 pm – Drayton Valley, Coach Motel – Assault with Weapon – Report of a female being struck with a baseball bat by a male.  Members attended and located female with head wounds who was transported to hospital by EMS.  Male located also with head injuries.  Both parties extremely intoxicated.  Male arrested and charged for assault with weapon. 

December 26

1:21 pm – Drayton Valley, Coach Motel – Unwanted male – Complainant reports seeing male from assault complaint the previous night at the motel.  Male is on conditions not be there.  Members attended and spoke with complainant who advised they observed the male in the parking lot.  Male did not attempt to talk to them and left the area.

4:13 pm – Drayton Valley, Ceasars Inn Motel – Family Dispute – report of an altercation in which the complainant wants the other party removed.  Members attended and convinced the offending party to leave. 

4:46 pm – Drayton Valley, 52 Street – Towed vehicle – complainant reporting a stolen vehicle.  Member recalled the vehicle being towed as it was parked on a lot that the tenant was evicted from.  Owner had vehicle towed.  Complainant was advised of same.

10:29 pm – Drayton Valley, Home Away Inn – Unwanted male – Report that male from previous occurrence has returned.  Members attended and requested male leave.  Male provided with ride to the matador Motel. 

11:10 pm – Drayton Valley, Best Western Parking Lot – suspicious person – Report of two suspicious persons all dressed in black in the parking lot.  Members attended and patrolled this and other parking lots in the area, suspicious persons had left the area. 

11:32 pm – Drayton Valley, 47 Avenue – suspicious person – Report of an older female ringing the doorbell wearing a black coat.  Member attended and located female.  Female confused and taken back to their residence.

December 27

12:47 am – Drayton Valley, Cardium Theatre – Theft – complainant reports leaving the theatre to find their vehicle had been rummaged through.  No damage to vehicle, but glove compartment had been opened.  Garage Door opener was stolen.
