Under the new policy, council remuneration rates as of Jan. 1, 2019 are as follows:

Mayor – $ 2,900.00 monthly honoraria
Councillors – $ 1,200.00 monthly honoraria
Deputy Mayor – additional $100 monthly honoraria

Per diem rates for approved Town activities:
$155.00 per day – less than 4 hours
$240.00 per day – four (4) hours or more in duration
$330.00 per day – AUMA, RMA and FCM Conferences or when the combined time of two or more meetings is eight hours or greater.

Mayor Tammy Burke said, “It’s a financial commitment members are taking to participate and they should be equally financially compensated to sit through a meeting.”
