Olds College Broncos win national women’s basketball title

The Olds Broncos are Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association women’s basketball champions.

The Broncos won 74-69 over the weekend against the host Cegep de Sainte-Foy Dynamiques to win the gold medal.

CCAA Player of the Year Brittney Thibeaux was unphased in the first quarter despite the crowd’s attempts to knock her off her game, consistently hitting free throws.

The second quarter saw Olds continue to build their lead and they went to halftime up 37-29.

In the second half, the Dynamiques began strong cutting the lead to just 41-35.

However, the Broncos held their ground as the game went right down to the wire to become the number one team in the country.

Player of the game for the Broncos was Kristina Bajovic who dropped 14 points in the win.
