École Fox Run School yearbook earns international recognition

Jan 14, 2019 | 1:22 PM

Students and staff who volunteer their time compiling and producing the yearbook at École Fox Run School are celebrating! The Sylvan Lake middle school received a distinguished merit award for their 2018 yearbook from Lifetouch, which has been a mainstay in school photography in communities all over North America for over 80 years.

The announcement came from Minneapolis, where judges evaluated yearbooks based on theme, theme development, design, continuity, photography, writing, creativity, content and coverage.

“The books reflect hours of hard work by the staffs and advisors,” said Laura Schaub, Lifetouch yearbooks education specialist and contest coordinator. “These books are some of the best elementary and secondary books in the nation.”

Congratulations to everyone who supports the yearbook project at École Fox Run! Red Deer’s Jason Braaksma with Lifetouch Canada presented the award to Grade 8 teacher, Kathy Tuck, who is the lead teacher on the yearbook committee. She was assisted by fellow teacher Renee Eastwood and lots of great student contributors!
